Your first course
Starting a course takes about two minutes. Here’s the walkthrough.
1. Sign in
sned uses email magic links — no password. Enter your email, click the link we send, and you’re in. Lessons are delivered to the same address.
2. Choose your topic
One topic per course. The sweet spot is medium-broad:
| Too narrow | Just right | Too broad |
|---|---|---|
| Sourdough scoring | Bread baking | Cooking |
| The 1966 World Cup | Soccer tactics | Sports |
React useEffect | Front-end basics | Programming |
Too narrow and day 19 gets thin. Too broad and 28 days only skims the surface.
3. Add your context
Two optional inputs make lessons noticeably better:
- About you — free text. “I’m 41, switching careers, math-anxious” changes how every lesson is written.
- Experience level — how familiar you already are with the topic. Beginner lessons define terms; advanced ones skip the basics.
4. Review your plan
sned researches the topic and drafts the 28-day outline. Skim it. If it emphasizes the wrong things, hit regenerate and say why — “less history, more hands-on” — and it will redraft. You get two regenerations per course, so make the note specific.
You can’t hand-edit individual outline days. The outline is a contract the daily lessons build on — regeneration with a note is the way to change it.
5. Read day one
Your first lesson arrives the next morning. Every lesson links back to the site, where you can adjust how future lessons are written — tone, depth, format — any time. That’s covered in shaping your lessons.
